Maschine Brennt issues ‘Music for Machines’ as limited CD edition – first full album since 2022’s ‘Grief’

Swedish electronic musician Joacim Thenander, operating as Maschine Brennt, has released “Music for Machines,” the project’s fourth studio album and first full-length since 2022’s “Grief.” Originally issued digitally via Razgrom Music on February 27, 2026, the album now appears as a limited CD edition of 250 hand-numbered copies with an 8-page booklet. The 14-track work comprises 12 primary tracks plus two bonus cuts: a demo version of “Electric Music” and an unreleased club remix of “DCY.” The release marks Maschine Brennt’s return to machine-pop aesthetics following the ambient instrumental direction of “Grief,” centering conceptually on the notion of machines creating music for machines. Two accompanying videos—an album teaser and official clip for the track “Maschine”—support the release. The project, founded around 1991-1992 alongside Thenander’s work with experimental duo Cultivated Bimbo, employs whole-tone scales, hard-quantized rhythms, and processed vocals to minimize human elements in its sound.
