The Mechanical Sheep, a Bonn-based EBM and dark electro project led by Mathew Bonehead, has released their fourth single titled “Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn” via Maschinen Klang Label. The track’s title derives from H.P. Lovecraft’s 1928 short story “The Call of Cthulhu,” translating to “In his house at R’lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.” Founded in 2024, The Mechanical Sheep blends industrial and dark electro with lyrical themes drawn from classic literature including works by Orwell, Poe, and Goethe. This single follows three preceding 2026 releases: “2+2=5,” “Das Lindenblatt,” and “Das Bildnis” featuring Decence. Bonehead also serves as songwriter and co-founder of CIRES alongside Eric Schmaler. An accompanying music video accompanies the Lovecraft-inspired release.
