“A Message From the Stars” — Milan Art-Rock Quartet October Put Love on Ice in Their Video for “Universe”

Milan quartet October released “Universe,” the fourth single from their debut album Dancing Like an Idiot, through Waddafuzz! Records. The song features a rhythmic bassline influenced by new wave funk, with vocalist Gianluca Villa singing in a silky upper register. The accompanying video, directed by Fabrizio Grasso, depicts the band performing on an ice rink while members of Sgularat Hockey Club Milano skate around them in competition, using hockey as a metaphor for unspoken conflict within a relationship. October comprises Villa on guitar and vocals, bassist Dario Giordano, drummer Paolo Soffientini, and synth player Davide Debenedetti. The album was recorded at Casamedusa and Frigo Studio, then mixed and mastered by Paolo Mauri. Dancing Like an Idiot was released March 30, 2026, available digitally and on vinyl.
