“In The Dead of the Night” — Italian Darkwavers This Eternal Decay Unveil Surreal Video for “Violate”

Italian darkwave outfit This Eternal Decay released “Violate,” the sixth single from their forthcoming album AMIGDALA, due January 15, 2027, via Swiss Dark Nights. The song explores consensual BDSM, examining how surrender can express agency and trust. The accompanying video, directed by Riccardo Sabetti with special effects by RVS, draws on 1990s hardcore cinema, David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, and Bill Viola’s visual experimentation to present fragmented bodies caught between fantasy and physical sensation. The article discusses how the work explores the psychological complexities of desire, vulnerability, and the exchange between two people who abandon inhibitions. AMIGDALA promises to further examine memory, desire, and psychological injuries influencing relationships.
