Marquis De Sade catalog reissues and archival releases announced for 2026-2027

The legendary French art rock/new wave band Marquis De Sade is experiencing a catalog renaissance through Universal Records. Following the October 2026 vinyl reissues of their seminal albums Dantzig Twist and Rue de Siam, additional releases are planned through 2027. November 2026 will see an archival album paired with a remastered double CD compilation of both original albums. Subsequent releases include a complete double vinyl edition of their 2017 Rennes concert and a 45 format featuring two previously unreleased studio recordings from 2017 with Philippe Pascal, originally conceived as sketches for an unrealized new album. The project, initiated by late guitarist Frank Darcel, is being finalized by drummer Eric Morinière and bassist Thierry Alexandre. An anecdote reveals Morinière and Darcel encountered Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones in adjacent Pathé-Marconi studio spaces during the late 1970s.
