Netherworld, the ambient project of Rome-based composer Alessandro Tedeschi, will release ‘The Hermit’ on June 29, 2026 via Glacial Movements, the Italian label Tedeschi founded in 2006. The archival album celebrates the label’s 20th anniversary and compiles seven previously unreleased recordings from the early 2000s, recovered from deteriorated CD-Rs and Minidiscs. Composed and recorded in 2004, the material features processed voices, gongs, metal surfaces, and synthesizer work. Matteo Spinazzè mastered the restored recordings in 2026. The limited edition release will arrive as a 200-copy 6-panel digipack CD with a 20-page booklet and features archival imagery from libraries in Australia and Sweden. This marks a return to Tedeschi’s earliest experimental work before Glacial Movements’ establishment.
