Norwegian darkwave and cyberpunk duo Rule of Two will release the single “Afterlife” on May 7, 2026 through Madrid-based Polypiel Records, marking their first collaboration with the label. The track represents the fourth single the band has issued in 2026, following “Call For Aid,” “All Time Low,” and a Refused cover titled “New Noise.” Thematically, “Afterlife” explores transformation and retrospection, contemplating change and mortality while embracing renewal. The song exemplifies the duo’s recent shift toward darker industrial aesthetics. Formed in 2023 by Ronny Flissundet and Kristian Liljan, Rule of Two emerged from Oslo’s metal and alternative rock circles, blending darkwave with synth-pop, dream-pop, and ambient influences. The band released their debut album “Aiming For the Sun” in November 2025 and has steadily expanded their output through multiple EPs and singles throughout 2024 and 2025.
