WHOLE release third album ‘THING’ on Blackjack Illuminist Records

Berlin synthpop duo WHOLE released their third album “THING” on 9 October 2026 through Blackjack Illuminist Records, available on CD, cassette and digital formats. The nine-track album incorporates industrial, darkwave, post-punk and EBM elements alongside synthpop. Composed by Alexander Leonard Donat and Thomas Schernikau, the record was created during a period of touring and studio work using a “quick and dirty” approach that departed from the band’s usual lengthy development process. The lyrics explore questions about human identity and individuality. The CD features a gatefold sleeve with a 12-page booklet; a signed edition is limited to 15 copies, while the cassette edition is limited to 30 transparent red copies. WHOLE previously released “BIAS” in 2018 and “HYDRA” in 2024.
