American harsh noise artist Richard Ramirez and Japanese experimental electronic musician Contagious Orgasm (Hiroshi Hashimoto) have released a collaborative noise cassette titled “Different Substances” through the SSSM label. The album is available in both cassette and digital formats. Ramirez, active since 1989 and based in Houston, specializes in harsh noise wall, power electronics, and drone while also operating Deadline Recordings. Hashimoto’s Contagious Orgasm project, established in 1987, blends experimental electronic music, noise, industrial, rhythmic noise, and ambient elements. Hashimoto additionally serves as the proprietor of SSSM, the label releasing this collaborative work. Both artists maintain established presences within the experimental and noise music communities.
